Victoria Remembers Major Grant Program

The Victoria Remembers Major Grant Program helps communities make personal connections with the Centenary of World War One, and assists projects or activities that commemorate other wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations in which Victorians have served.

Projects may involve

  • the creation of reflective or memorial spaces and memorials
  • history and research projects
  • community events (e.g. ceremonies, parades, re-enactments)
  • cultural, multicultural and arts projects
  • exhibitions, performances and publications, web-based materials and app development

Funding range of grant

The program will run over the Anzac Centenary (2014-18) and is designed to support projects, with a contribution (minimum funding level has been increased as of the round opening in November 2017) between $30,000 and $80,000 (excluding GST), which have a significant commemorative or educational benefit for Victoria's diverse community. Grants are paid exclusive of GST and only 1 application can be made per project.

If your project is less than $30,000 (excluding GST) please do not apply to this grant program. If your project is under the minimum amount, you may wish to apply in another grant program such as the Victoria Remembers Minor Grant Program.

You are expected to contribute at least 20% of the overall expense budget for the project excluding in kind support, private sponsorship or funding from other programs. Organisations unable to make this contribution are still able to apply but must provide justification for not making this contribution in their application.

Eligibility

Ex-service organisations, local government authorities, not-for-profit organisations and educational institutions are eligible provided the project is based in Victoria. Applications from other types of organisations may be considered on a case by case basis. Unincorporated organisations may arrange for an incorporated organisation to act as an auspice on their behalf.

If you are an auspice organisation, you must read the information in the auspice arrangement downloadable document below and sign this form to show that you understand the terms of entering into an auspice arrangement. The form must be submitted as an attachment to the grant application.
