The Victorian Veterans Council is responsible for distributing funds for this grant program and the Department of Premier and Cabinet manages the administration of the grants.

The guidelines for this newly named grant program largely remain the same as the former Commemoration and Education Grant Program with the two minor changes as outlined below:

  • The maximum funding level available for a grant has been increased from $20,000 to $30,000
  • Commencing in 2018, there will be two funding rounds per year. Applications for ANZAC Day commemorative services should apply in the first funding round for the year

This program provides grants for:

  • Commemoration and Community Education
  • Education Assistance for Veterans' Dependants

Victoria Remembers Minor grants provide funding for projects which honour or commemorate the service and sacrifice of veterans and educate Victorians about the contribution made by our veterans in their service to the nation and the state. This could include new war memorials, commemorative events, public education projects and the preservation of wartime heritage.

Education Assistance for Veterans' Dependants grants provide funding to organisations to assist with the educational needs of veterans' dependants. Organisations wishing to apply for this program must contact the Veterans Branch at Department of Premier and Cabinet on 9651 2202 before submitting an application.

Funding range

Grants up to $30,000 (excluding GST) are available. Grants are paid exclusive of GST and only one application can be made per project.

Eligibility

Local government authorities, not-for-profit organisations and educational institutions are eligible provided the project is based in Victoria. Unincorporated organisations may arrange for an incorporated organisation to act as an auspice on their behalf.

If you are an auspice organisation, you must read the information in the auspice arrangement downloadable document below and sign this form to show that you understand the terms of entering into an auspice arrangement. The form must be submitted as an attachment to the grant application.
